Frost blankets protect our delicate peach blooms during late-season freezes.
We use a special system in our orchard to protect our crop from late-season freezes. A special machine applies frost blankets directly to our trees. The results have been remarkable providing up to 8 degrees of protection above ambient temperatures independent of the presence of an inversion layer.
In the spring of 2021, during a severe cold snap when our trees were in full bloom, the temperature in the orchard plummeted to 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Our system performed wonderfully and saved us from any loss of our crop.
